Join us as Marie Gallanar shares lessons learned, and leaders’ experiences and new perspectives on business continuity planning and disaster recovery.  In this workshop attendees will be asked to answer questions on a worksheet and share their answers with the group. Participants should be prepared to think about what to include in a business continuity plan and how to update an existing one, to include adding items such as cyber and active shooter events.  Marie will also provide sample plans and resources for drafting a plan.

Learning Objectives:

1. The type of events to consider when drafting a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan.

2. Key elements to consider when drafting a Plan.

3. Key stakeholders that should be involved in preparing a Plan.

4. How to engage with Leadership and Key Stakeholders during Plan implementation and testing.

5. How to review and adjust the Plan after an event.


About Marie

Marie Gallanar is a Vice President, and Account Executive in the Commercial Department of Parker, Smith & Feek, as well as the Manufacturing Practice Group Leader and an active member of their Food, Beverage & Agribusiness Practice Group.  Marie came to Parker, Smith & Feek with 10 years of experience in the financial services industry.  Her consultative approach to understanding her client’s business as a whole helps her to assess their current and potential risks.  Her background in financial services helps her to understand how a client’s exposure affects the bottom line.

Marie is actively involved in the manufacturing industry.  She serves on the board of directors for Women in Manufacturing (WiM), is a member of the Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance (PNAA), and is a past board member of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing Puget Sound (CAMPS).

Marie is originally from Southern California and moved to Washington in 2003.  She attended both the Cal State San Bernardino undergraduate and Cal State Fullerton graduate program as a history major.  She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and daughter in and around their home.  Marie is an avid snowboarder and cyclist.  She also enjoys volunteering with education-focused non-profits and is a current Board Member of Washington DECA.  Marie holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.
